We are absolutely thrilled to be chosen as a finalist in this year’s BBC Food and Farming Awards for the Best Drinks Producer.
From a candidate list of over four hundred, we are among three to appear in the finals on the 13th June. What particularly pleases us is that our environmental sustainability – which we put at the core of the company alongside technological innovation – is being recognised in this award.
As my old friend and fellow founder Val Warner puts it: “Mother Nature is our business partner”. Only by being absolutely in sync with the pulse of our wild surroundings can we use our novel “Triple Technique” distilling process properly. We have received top awards for the quality of our product, and the innovation in our distillery, but this award recognises our ethic on the ground, in the earth, and links it all together: only through a combination of outstanding technology and exceptional sensitivity to our environment can we make our spirits taste “as alive in the glass as in the wild”.
The BBC Food Programme received nominations for over 400 businesses in the Best Drinks Producer category and whittled the shortlist down to three. The final round of judging will take place by the end of May with winners announced in Bristol on Wednesday 13th June 2018.
The awards originally launched in 2000 were launched ‘to honour those who have done most to promote the cause of good food.’ The judging team is made up of the most eminent names from the food and drinks world – chefs, academics, retail analysts, writers and campaigners.
